Ahead of the Libertarian National Committee convention in New Orleans, the Libertarian Party of Rhode Island convened its annual meeting in Providence to nominate and elect executive committee officers and national convention delegates. The Party also endorsed three Libertarian candidates for office.
At the May 5 convention, Michael Rinaldi of East Providence was re-elected to a two-year term as vice-chairman, and Elizabeth Richardson of Charlestown was re-elected to a two-year term as treasurer. Lucie Raposo of North Providence was elected to a one-year term as member at-large.
Winning the LPRI endorsement, William Hunt, Jr. of Warren is the Libertarian candidate for representative in Rhode Island House District 68, Warren and Bristol. Russell Gundlach of Warwick was endorsed in his run as a Libertarian for Rhode Island Senate District 31, Warwick and Cranston. In the local race for North Providence Town Councilor At-Large, Francesco “Porky” Martinelli received the endorsement.
LPRI Chairman Patrick Ford, Lucie Raposo, and Thomas Markey were elected as delegates to the national convention, which will be held June 30 through July 3 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
