The Libertarian Party of Rhode Island recently convened its annual business meeting at Ristorante Roma on Federal Hill, Providence, to nominate and elect officers to the executive committee.

At the April 28 convention, Patrick Ford of Cumberland was re-elected to a two-year term as chairman, and William Hunt of Warren was re-elected to a two-year term as secretary. Lucie Raposo of North Providence was re-elected to a one-year term as member at-large.

In addition to annual reports from the officers, the voting body unanimously passed a motion to hold a special convention for the purpose of electing delegates to the May 2020 Libertarian National Convention in Austin, Texas. The date of the special convention, predicted for December 2019 or January 2020, will be announced after the Libertarian National Committee (LNC)’s determines the number of delegates allocated to Rhode Island.
